Also known as “Curcuma Oil,” Turmeric Oil is steam-distilled from the dried rhizomes of the Curcuma longa plant. The aroma of turmeric oil is warm, fresh, and spicy, with a lively camphoraceous bite that is especially appealing to citrus profiles. The oil has also had recent expansions within the pharmaceutical and aromatherapy markets, mainly due to the presence of curcumin, which is a naturally occurring component of turmeric associated with health and wellness. In perfumery, turmeric oil can impart a dry and woody odor to amber bases and “fantasy” style colognes.
